Emily and I have been so busy taking care of the kids, that today we realized that we haven't updated our blog in a very long time. Things have been good. One of our renters is done with their internship and the other one is just about done. They'll be leaving us shortly. It has been really nice getting to know them. They are great people.
It was really nice hanging out with all the Hawks family when they came out for the 4th of July and the baby blessing of my brother-in-law and his wife and family.
We went to Gettysburg and Emily and her mom and dad go to relive their Hill Cumorah days, with a visit to New York state. They left a few weeks ago, but it was great to see them again. That's one of the problems of living so far apart. =(
Amy Emily and I decided to go watch the fireworks down in D.C. They were awesome, but very short. We were pretty amazing though. We left our house around 7pm. Drove to the train station and rode it all the way in. We only had to wait about 30 minutes for the fireworks to start and after the fireworks, we booked it back to the train station and were one of first groups to get out. Pretty stinkn' amazing if you ask me. BTW, the flag Amy is posing by isn't ours, she just wanted a picture with something patriotic. We have no clue who's flag it was.
We just got back from a trip down to my parents house. We went down there for my birthday/get away from Maryland time. It was very nice, but the heat index for the entire week we were there was 110! Real crappy. But at least we got to go to the beach and cool off. The kids LOVED the ocean. Grandma and Grandpa had a little harder time, but they LOVED watching and playing with the grand-kids.
Tonight we went to some event locally that the police and firefighters put on. They say it help promote a union between the local officials and the community. Scott and Kylie had a lot of fun. We found out that Kylie will only let Scott hold her hand and lead her around. She actually holds her hand out for Scott to come get it. Darling babies!
We've been having a lot of fun around the house and the area. We love doing things as a family. I am so grateful I have the ability and opportunity to spend this time with them.
